In my last post on finding Cheap Perfumes I discussed three places you can go to find individual bottles of discounted scents.

I'd like to mention another option - buying wholesale perfumes. By ordering in bulk you can save significantly over buying one bottle at a time. You can search online to find wholesalers and place your order without having to leave your home. Which also means the order will be delivered to your door, and you don't have to find a shopping cart big enough to carry everything home!

Bearing in mind that bulk purchases can certainly be more expensive than individual bottles, it is a good idea to team up with some friends or family members who share your taste in perfumes. By splitting the order you can meet the minimum requirements for discounted wholesale purchases while still saving money on the individual bottles.

Sometimes you can find a reseller who purchases from wholesalers and sells in smaller amounts, so you'd still have to order multiple bottles at once but perhaps at smaller quantities than direct from the wholeseller at still at a deeper discounts that ordering individual discounted bottles. Three ways to find good quality cheap perfumes

With a little legwork and a bit of time you can easily find good quality cheap perfumes without breaking the bank.

If you enjoy enveloping yourself in the latest designer scents put out by celebrities and cosmetic companies, you know it can be an expensive habit. One ounce of a good perfume can cost in the hundreds of dollars - and that’s just one scent. Most of us have several on the shelf at any one time for various settings.

But designer scents don’t have to cost an arm and a leg - if you know where to look, you can find discount designer perfumes.

If you are looking for cheap perfumes, stay away from the department
stores. Unless they are running a good sale, you’ll pay exorbitant prices for the name brand perfumes. Try visiting a perfume outlet; many malls now feature outlets in addition to, or even in place of, full price stores.

If your local malls do not have any outlet perfume stores, then find the nearest outlet mall and you’re bound to be pleased at how much money you can save. It’s usually a bit more of a drive than the local malls, but what you’ll save will more than make up for the time spent in the car.

You may find that an outlet store does not carry every product from your favorite brand, but you will be able to find the most popular brands and products from 30%-70% off. BEWARE: Make sure you are buying the actual brand, and not a knock off. While a knock off can smell very much like the brand you know and love, it usually has a much higher alcohol content, causing the scent to wear off sooner and the perfume to go flat.

Discount stores that sell department store seconds and last year’s fashions are also great places to find cheap perfume. You can always find a wide selection of designer perfume cheap at stores such as Ross, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx. Because these perfumes are not locked behind cosmetic counters, always open the box to make sure that you are buying a full bottle.

Online auction sites such as E-bay are great places to find fantastic deals on name brand perfume. Many people will sell a perfume that they got as a gift, but that they don’t particularly like, on auction sites. Usually, these sellers are just happy to get any amount of money for the perfume that they don’t want and you can score very expensive fragrances at extremely low prices.

Never pay full price for designer perfume. You can buy the best brands of perfumes cheap, if you know the right places to look.

Cheap Perfumes don't look cheap

The nice thing about buying cheap perfumes is that they are basically the same product you get when you pay full price. This means that you can have an elegant dresser lined with fancy perfume bottles - for a fraction of the price other people will spend to amass the same collection.

Of course, you don't have to leave perfumes in the bottles they come in. Some scents are packaged in rather plain bottles, but with a little creativity your perfume display can be as unique as your collection of scents.

Perfume manufacturers will sometimes make special, limited edition perfume bottles. It is a shame to just throw them out when the perfume inside is finished. However, you can rise them out and continue using them. You can refill them with any scent you like, it does not have to be the same scent that originally came in the bottle.

If you frequent thrift shops and garage sales you can find older novelty perfume bottles and fill them with your favorite discounted perfumes. Antique shops and even online auctions will have very interesting bottles.

If you're lucky, you might even find gorgeous atomizers or old fashioned stopper perfume bottles. Carefully wash them out and let them dry for a few days before refilling them with your own perfume. It is fun to take a shpritz from an old fashioned perfume atomizer, just like your grandmother used to have. Just check that the stopped is tight on the bottle or atomizer so your perfume doesn't evaporate.

You can even make your own perfumes bottles. You can browse beauty supply shops, glass manufacturers, or, as always, online auctions to find empty bottles to start with. You can easily find rather plain bottles to use, and then decorate them. You can create a stained glass look by doing decoupage with tissue paper cut into different shapes. Fabric paint is good for a textured look. You can glue on beads or other decorations to create a look that is truly unique.

If you really enjoy working with your hands and are very creative you should consider taking a glass-blowing class and making your own bottles from scratch. Working on your own, under the guidance of a good teacher, you will be able to create designs that are truly beautiful.

Buying Cheap Perfumes

Buying perfumes cheaply is not the same as buying cheap perfumes. There are many places you can find discount designer perfumes that are the same quality found in expensive department stores for a fraction of the price.

A significant number of discount stores can be found online; even those companies with a brick-and-mortar presence will also very often have an online store as well. Sometimes you can find better deals online than you can in the stores themselves, since the costs for running an online store are so much less than a real store. Usually, if you spend a certain minimum amount, you can get free shipping as well.

One caveat; if it looks too good to be true it probably is. Unless a sale is advertised as clearance and it is a very deep discount off the regular price be careful to check that it is not a counterfeit scent. One other thing to be aware of is many unreputable stores will pull a "bait-and-switch" where they advertise a special price then claim it is unavailable for some reason and try to convince you to buy something you weren't really looking for. A good online store, just like offline, should provide you what you are interested in without too much hassle.

Someone looking to sample new perfumes or has recently begun wearing perfume and would like to build up a collection should begin their search with Froogle, Google's product search engine. Froogle searches for individual products and will return items found selling anywhere online, including eBay.

If you are interested in a more general search, or in finding one or two specific places you can return to when you need to resupply, then you should try out online stores that specialize in cheap perfumes. When you find one with good prices and decent service you may never want to browse a department store again!
